Environment created by Selavy Oh, with input text on prims featuring three automated performers reciting french poems while walking in a square and changing gender. loosely connected to BiW’s digital love theme. the text on the walls is generated dynamically by using the new shared media feature of second life viewer version 2. any other chat text, such as the english text in the picture above, will also appear on the walls and randomly mix with the poems.

Yet another work in progress of Selavy’s which I think may be relevant to LPDT2 is “labyrinth beyond”. I am not sure how some of this text ended up on transparent backgrounds, although I am sure Selavy told me at the time. But, however it may have happened, this looks fabulous!

Can you tell us a bit more please Selavy? And do you see a way of integrating this work into the environment of LPDT2? Would you wish to do so? Or is this definitely a stand-alone project?

Selavy’s response: “labyrinth beyond” is a project which I submitted for a mixed-reality exhibition, but which was not accepted. I hope to show it on another occasion. The text displayed on the panels is done as pre-fabricated textures rather than as media-on-prim, that’s why it can use transparency.
